Mumbai Local – The local train which is very famous in the city of Mumbai – “The city of Dreams”

The Railway network was inaugurated on April 16th, 1853. The first train ran from Bori Bunder (Currently named Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus) to Thane Station.

Mumbai’s lifeline – the Local train network is divided into two zonal divisions operated by ” Western Railway” & “Central Railway”.

Mumbai’s local got the tag of lifeline because of its running almost uninterrupted in every situation, frequency, cheap fare, less time-consuming, the network linking all the commercial areas, residential suburbs, and much more.

The Train starts in the morning at 4.00 am and stops at 1.00 am the next day. It only gets halt for 3 hrs, and the next day the same journey starts.

It is estimated that almost 80 lakh commuter travel daily, which make the train super crowded in peak hours.

Mumbai is known for its speed, never sleeping city and whatever happens, it never stops, the local train also follow the same factors that’s why People of Mumbai are so attached to the local 

If Delhi is the heart of India, then Calling Mumbai the Brain of India won’t be wrong.

Due to the pandemic, the speed of local trains got a little slow, but will surely come back faster.
